About Day of Hope
Statistics show that four in 10 Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. These numbers profoundly affect us, our families, and our community here on the Central Coast. This is why Marian Regional Medical Center, in partnership with the Santa Maria Times, proudly hosts Day of Hope year after year to raise awareness and funding for our loved ones, both past and present, in their battle for life.

This is why Marian Regional Medical Center, in partnership with the Santa Maria Times, proudly hosts Day of Hope year after year to raise awareness and funding for our loved ones, both past and present, in their battle for life.
We invite you to join us on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in support of the 12th annual Day of Hope event benefiting Marian Cancer Care patients and their families at Mission Hope Cancer Center.
On August 27, hundreds of community volunteers will take to the streets, intersections, parking lots, and public spaces throughout the Santa Maria Valley in groups of various sizes to collect $1.00 donations in exchange for a commemorative Day of Hope newspaper. Participants have the opportunity to fundraise virtually as well, either individually or as part of a team, through personalized fundraising pages that can be shared with friends, family and colleagues via email or your favorite social networks.
One hundred percent of the proceeds collected during the Day of Hope remain in our community, supporting programs and services for cancer patients and their families.
Since its inception in 2014, Day of Hope has successfully raised over $2.5 million, directly benefiting the more than 500,000 cancer patients across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. Today, your support is more vital than ever. Every cancer patient in the Santa Maria Valley deserves access to exceptional care, and with your help, we can make that possible.
